Zakat ul-Fitr 2014

Zakat ul-Fitr is a duty which is Wajib on every Muslim, whether male or female, minor or adult as long as he / she has the means to do so. The proof that this form of charity is compulsory can be found in the Sunnah whereby Ibn 'Umar reported that the Prophet, sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, made Zakat ul-Fitr compulsory on every slave, freeman, male, female, young and old among the Muslims; one Sa' of dried dates or one Sa' of barely.

Zakat Ul-Fitr (Fitrana) 2014 is €7 per person and it can be paid directly in the IFI office. For further enqueries, please email the office.

Ibn Abbas (r.a.) said: "The Prophet (p.b.u.h.) enjoined Zakat-ul-Fitr to purify the fasting person from verbal errors and evil deed and to feed the poor. Whoever gives it before Eid Prayer, it will be an accepted Zakat and whoever gives after Eid prayer it will be Sadaqa" narrated by Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, Hakim and others.
